A delightful escape with local charm
Our stay was magical from the start! The cozy pub atmosphere welcomed us, and the food was next-level delicious. Conversing with friendly locals over drinks was a highlight.
Breakfast timing was quite strict, leaving us feeling a bit rushed. We would have appreciated more flexibility in choosing our options.

The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, ideal after a long day of adventure. The home-cooked food was exceptional, particularly the generous three-course dinner, which was a real treat after a tiring trek.
The shower was a tight squeeze, which made for an awkward experience. Breakfast hours between 8:30 and 9:00 felt rushed, and the limited menu options were a bit of a bummer. Some noise disturbances were also present, likely from neighboring guests, which impacted the overall comfort I was hoping for. the Wi-Fi didn’t hold up well in the upstairs rooms, making it tough to stay connected when I wanted to sit back and relax.

We had a lovely time hiking up Warton Crag with the kids. The views were breathtaking from the top! It was a fantastic way to bond as a family. Janet and James were really helpful, sharing tips for local activities. The cozy ambiance added to our fun family getaway.
In my wife’s opinion, breakfast could have offered more variety for kids.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Washington in Carnforth. The room I reserved, a Double Room with Private Bathroom, felt clean and had a comfortable bed. The ambiance of the pub was cozy and inviting, perfect for relaxing after a long day. Breakfast exceeded my expectations, featuring high-quality ingredients that were cooked to perfection. It’s worth noting that the breakfast hours are quite limited, only from 8:30 to 9:00, which might be a bit tight for some guests. The hospitality was decent, though initial interactions could have been a touch warmer. I felt a bit rushed when trying to figure out the breakfast entrance. Despite this, I appreciated the friendliness of the couple running the pub, and they even offered a lift to the station when I needed it. There were a few minor inconveniences, like the small size of the en suite shower and inconsistent meal quality on different nights.

The Double Room with Private Bathroom was clean and comfortable, making it a pleasant retreat after long hikes. Meals were memorable, particularly the delightful whole wheat bread rolls served with dinner, which paired perfectly with a cozy atmosphere. breakfast hours felt too tight, leading to a rushed experience, and the shower size was a bit cramped. noise from neighboring guests detracted from the tranquility one might hope for.

Had a lovely 2-night stay! The room was super spacious and clean. The food was amazing, we enjoyed proper home-cooked meals in the bar area, and the locals were friendly. Just be ready for the early breakfast window, it was a bit tight for us! Really enjoyed the real ales too.
